MISSION STATEMENT

The Virginia “Class Action” Scrappers mission has been and continues to be “to maintain the best quality team for tournament play and provide the opportunity for exposure to college coaches dependent upon each athlete’s abilities and work ethic”. This organization is committed to placing each team in the best tournaments possible and preparing them to perform to the best of their abilities when given this opportunity. This requires, parents, players, coaches, and board members to all work together to provide training, equipment, and travel. We also set and maintain certain expectations for behavior, sportsmanship, participation, and effort so college coaches can see that this organization’s athletes realize what it takes to play at the next level. The Scrappers take pride in the many accomplishments we have achieved to date and hope to assist your daughter in reaching her goals.

The Scrappers softball program was started in the fall of 1995. We have 6 teams in the organization: 18U (2 teams), 16U, 14U, 12U, and 10U.

Over 100 softball players have graduated from the Scrappers Organization and have played or are still playing at the collegiate level. These Scrappers were from all over the Roanoke Valley and beyond. They were offered acceptance into athletic programs in the form of either softball scholarships or academic financial assistance at colleges such as Virginia Tech, Radford University, Furman University, Queens College, Liberty University, Longwood College, Valdosta State College, Roanoke College, Pfeifer College, Bridgewater College, Coastal Carolina University, Bluefield College, Mary Washington College, Gardner Webb University, Lynchburg College, North Carolina A&T, and Carson Newman College.
